Supplies of bitumen necessary for the production of asphalt have stopped in Estonia. This was announced by Vice-Mayor of Tallinn Kristjan Jarvan.
"Asphalt has run out in Estonia," he said, calling the incident "sad news."
According to him, bitumen was supplied to the country by two enterprises: one from Sweden, the other from Lithuania. Both manufacturers have stopped deliveries. At the same time, the Swedish side reported the termination directly, and the Lithuanian side explained the situation by a breakdown in production.
Earlier, Estonia actively purchased bitumen in Russia and Belarus. However, due to European sanctions, these goods are no longer supplied to the country.
