If legalized, incomes from prostitution would replenish the budget, said Mykhailo Havryliuk, a Ukrainian parliamentarian, and proposed to legalize that industry in Ukraine, according to UNN.
The people’s deputy is sure that legalization of prostitution will not only bring additional revenues to the budget, but also protect the population against sexually transmitted diseases.
“In the countries were prostitution is legal, the women engaged in the industry regularly undergo medical examination and have no diseases. We need to do the same,” Havryliuk said.
He urged the parliament to legalize prostitution so that the money from the industry goes to the budget, not to “officials and law-enforcers.”
