US President Donald Trump has once again humiliated Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni by posting a photo with an ironic caption from the G7 summit, where Meloni looks up at Trump with adoration.
"A restraining order is required," Trump signed the photo.
It should be noted that all this is happening on the eve of the NATO summit opening tomorrow in Ankara.
As EADaily reported, the relationship between Trump and Meloni heated up back in April. Then the US president criticized Pope Leo XIV for condemning the attack on Iran. Then the Italian Prime Minister stood up for the pontiff. On June 19, in a comment to La7, the head of the White House said that Meloni "begged" him for a photo together at the recent G7 summit in France, and he agreed out of pity. Meloni called Trump's words completely fictitious and added that "neither she nor Italy" ever beg, after which Trump said that Meloni would not be able to "make friends" with the United States again for the sake of improving their ratings.
