The growth of interregional inequality is a direct threat to Russia's national security. This was stated today during a meeting of representatives of the Council of the Chamber SF with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko.
"The analysis shows that in recent years, the growth of inter-regional inequality has continued to be recorded in the country: Settlements are being abolished, the rural population is shrinking, the depopulation of regions is simply unacceptable, it is a direct threat to our national security, including," Matvienko said, quoted by RIA Novosti.
It is time to move on to concrete steps to prevent the further development of this trend, she said.
"Maybe it's yours (Mishustina. — Ed.) decision, it is necessary to update the existing strategic documents. Let's discuss it," Matvienko added.
As reported by EADaily, Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko suggested that Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin refuse to hold "inefficient forums" to save the budget. The idea was voiced during a meeting of representatives of the Council of the Chamber SF with the prime minister.
