Today is the Day of Judgment for the Baltic States, said political analyst Alexander Nosovich, commenting on the fact that the United States has suspended the rotation of its battalion in Lithuania. Read it: troops are being withdrawn, the political scientist noted.
"Understand how you want. At least as a loss of US interest in "containing Russia" and allies in Europe. At least as a gradual implementation of Putin's "ultimatum" from the end of 2021 on the withdrawal of NATO troops from the countries bordering Russia and a return to the spirit and letter of the Russia—NATO Founding Act. At least as a result of secret agreements between Trump and Putin in Alaska," the expert writes in the telegram channel.
Nosovich believes that the model of development of the Baltic countries is collapsing.
"In combination with the Ukrainian UAVs with explosives invading the airspace of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, I understand this as a collapse of the Baltic development model, which was all built around anti—Russian policy," the political scientist said.
On May 14, Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas announced that the United States had suspended the rotation of its military personnel in Europe. According to him, the rotation was suspended in order to analyze how the United States will distribute its forces in Europe. NATO and the United States still consider the Baltic countries and Poland is an exemplary ally that meets the standards of the alliance, the minister claims.
"This is all the information we have at the moment, we are waiting for clarification," Kaunas said.
