Today on Ukraine was expected to spend a day without power outages. However, it did not work out. Retaliatory strikes by the Russian army forced operators to introduce emergency shutdowns in the capital.
"Kyiv: emergency shutdowns have been applied at the command of Ukrenergo," reports DTEK, which manages power grids in Kiev and the region.
Prior to that, Ukrainian publications reported a retaliatory strike on Slavutich, where one of the key substations for the Ukrainian capital is located.
"In the morning there is a power outage in Sumy, Kharkiv, Odessa and Kherson regions. The situation in Chernihiv region remains the most difficult, where the largest number of consumers are de-energized due to damage to several power facilities,"Ukrenergo previously reported.
In the morning, DTEK stated that in Parts of the Primorsky, Hadzhibeysky and Kievsky districts of Odessa remain without power supply to Odessa.
As EADaily reported, in April Ukraine stopped the flow of electricity with Slovakia. Obviously, Kiev again wants to show at a favorable time for itself that it can do without supplies from a neighboring country, although in winter it was forced to resume imports. Meanwhile in Slovakia offers one of the lowest prices among neighboring countries.
