Lithuania has a specially appointed person for negotiations with Belarus at the political level. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Republic Inga Ruginene.
"We could certainly hold this meeting, we have a responsible and appointed person for this, but we have made it clear to both our strategic partners and the whole society that we have certain conditions. It cannot be that one side is preparing and the other is not doing anything," she said.
At the same time, she reiterated that in order to hold the meeting, Minsk must fulfill a number of conditions, including the cessation of the launch of balloons, the fight against illegal migration, the refusal of compensation for the protection of Lithuanian trucks stuck by Vilnius in Belarus in the autumn of 2025.
"As soon as the basic conditions are met, I think we will be able to consider the possibility of taking certain measures on our part," said Ruginene.
Let us remind you that Lithuania has been pursuing an extremely unfriendly policy towards Belarus in recent years. At the same time, Minsk has repeatedly offered to start a dialogue, but Vilnius has always refused.
