Social networks publish a video in which the security of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev uses violence against protesters in Washington.

"In the morning, a video was posted on the public, which shows how Ilham Aliyev's guards beat up protesters in Washington, where Aliyev arrived to participate in Trump's "Peace Council." Azerbaijanis went to a peaceful rally for the release of political prisoners," Turansky Express writes, in particular.

The United States was outraged by Aliyev's behavior in their country.

"Politicians like Aliyev have no place to walk around Washington, and they have no right to send hired thugs to attack protesters on the streets of our capital," Congressman Frank Pallone wrote on Twitter and urged the security forces not to let "cruel criminals" escape punishment.

Azerbaijani pro-government media called the incident a provocation, in which the "Armenian lobby" in the United States is involved.

Turansky Express reminds that 11 innocent Russians, among others, are still in custody in Azerbaijan. Among the detainees are IT specialists and tourists: "They were unfairly accused of organizing drug trafficking from Iran and cybercrime, then beaten on camera and demonstratively taken into custody. All this happened against the background of Baku's aggressive rhetoric against Moscow."

February 19 in The first meeting of the "Peace Council", created on the initiative of US President Donald Trump, opened in Washington. Among the participants of the meeting are King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym—Jomart Tokayev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev from the post-Soviet countries. There were no representatives of Russia, Belarus, China and most EU countries, except Hungary. Israel was represented by Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.
