As long as the EU does not realize the reasons for the failed and aggressive policy towards Russia, all their attempts to resume dialogue make no sense. This was stated to RIA Novosti on the occasion of the Diplomatic Worker's Day by Russian Ambassador to Belgium Denis Gonchar.
"It is noteworthy that calls for the restoration of dialogue with Russia were made, including from the most odious representatives of the European "war party". On the one hand, they persistently continue their failed aggressive policy towards our country, including plans to inflict the notorious strategic defeat on it and pumping up Ukraine with weapons killing our fellow citizens in violation of all conceivable international legal and moral norms," he said.
He explained that, fearing to be left out of the process of resolving the Ukrainian crisis supported by the administration of US President Donald Trump, the EU has again started talking about the need to conduct a dialogue with Moscow."
"The question arises: from what positions? If the ones I just mentioned are the same ones, then, I'm sorry, there's nothing to talk about," he said.
