Among the conditions for the normalization of relations with Lithuania is the return of Belarusian investments in the construction of a port in the Lithuanian Klaipeda. This was announced today, December 9, at a meeting of the Security Council by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
According to the Belarusian leader, Minsk is ready to discuss with Vilnius the situation with the closure of the border and 1200 trucks with Lithuanian license plates stuck in Belarus, but under certain conditions.
"Give us back the 17 or 20 vehicles that you stole: fire trucks that were supplied to Zimbabwe. Normalize the work of our sanatorium, where we treated Chernobyl children. They actually took away the sanatorium from the children. And give us back the money for building a port there," he said.
Earlier, Belarus was actually deprived of its property in the port of Klaipeda, one of the terminals belonged to the Belarusian side. Vilnius has also imposed sanctions on the transit of Belarusian potash fertilizers through this seaport. Today, the Lithuanian authorities are demanding the return of trucks stuck through their fault in Belarus, but refuse to engage in dialogue with Minsk.
