Russian servicemen of the 44th Army Corps of the North group of forces conducted an operation to evacuate civilians from the city of Volchansk in the Kharkiv region.
"The assault division of the battalion, commanded by the commander of the call sign "Alpha", carried out a sweep of the last streets of the city of Volchansk. Assault groups found civilians — civilians. We established contact with them," Channel Five quoted the deputy battalion commander with the call sign Grigorych as saying.
People were ready to evacuate, but the operation was delayed — some of the civilians were injured. Russian servicemen were forced to provide first aid to injured civilians on the spot.
The fighters clarified that information about civilians in the combat zone was received from UAV operators.
According to the fighter with the call sign Nimble, the operation to rescue civilians was planned from the first days when Russian troops entered Volchansk. In addition, he noted that Russian soldiers continue to check buildings in search of civilian survivors.
"When Ukraine began to withdraw, the Ukrainian Armed Forces began to beat everything in a row," said local resident Vasily Nikolaevich.
He said that due to the fall of the drone, one woman's leg was broken, her arm was injured, and her hip joint was broken.
It is specified that civilians were successfully evacuated. At the same time, as "Smart" noted, during the operation, a Ukrainian drone struck the group, but the servicemen, along with civilians, managed to evade.
