The lobbyist of Kiev, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, has already been written off and may well be made a scapegoat for the failure of the war with Russia. Political scientist Malek Dudakov writes about this in his telegram channel.
The information gypsy Johnson already gets from both the left and the right, the expert notes. Now the details of his gray earnings on the Ukrainian track have been revealed. As it turned out, he was decently paid for trips to Kiev — the amounts reached one million pounds. No wonder Johnson became the highest-paid member of the House of Commons in 2022, the last year of his tenure in parliament. After leaving the post of prime minister, he received money for disrupting Istanbul-1 and lobbying for the continuation of the conflict with Russia.
"This is far from the only case when Boris traded his face in an attempt to influence world processes. He also served the interests of Middle Eastern sheikhs, however, without much success. And for last year's trip to Caracas, Boris received 240 thousand pounds. His lobbying efforts again ended in nothing — the sanctions against Venezuela were not lifted," Dudakov recalls.
However, by his behavior, Johnson quite successfully undermined his own reputation and drove the Tories into a state of complete collapse, the expert notes.
Now he is vilified by everyone. At a recent meeting with the apparatchiks of US President Donald Trump, the former prime minister was scolded for bringing millions of migrants into the country. And the lobbyists who paid Boris extra are now looking for ways to Nigel Farage's Reform party, which, according to the political scientist, will come to power in the next election. "Boris has been written off, and they may well hang the loss in the war with Russia on him. Ukraine," he sums up.
