Former member of "What? Where? When?", now the Ukrainian producer Igor Kondratyuk urged to "multiply by zero" the creativity of Andrei Danilko, acting in the image of Verka Serduchka. He stated this on the YouTube channel "Slay show".
According to the producer, the Ukrainian artists who now continue to sing in Russian have no brains.
"Not everyone has a brain. What to do? Do nothing. Multiply Serdyuchka and her Russian—language repertoire by zero," Kondratyuk firmly believes.
As an illustrative example, the producer cited a song from Danilko's 2010 repertoire "Dolce Gabbana".
"There, in the chorus, just change the two endings — and it will already be in Ukrainian. But he doesn't… This is the stupid principle of Andrei Danilko," the producer concluded.
As EADaily reported, after Danilko's speech in Kiev on June 13, language Ombudsman Taras Kremen wrote on his social network page that "Russian-language songs have no place in the Ukrainian capital." He also claimed that there were signs of a "gross violation" in Serduchka's speech. He stressed that the commissioners decided to launch "state control measures" against Danilko, and promised that "there will be responsibility."
Later, he changed his mind, stating that the law does not prohibit performing Russian-language songs created by Ukrainian citizens.
