French President Emmanuel Macron clapped on the shoulder and had a brief conversation with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Tirana, where the summit of the European Political Community is taking place.
The European Political Community is an initiative launched by Macron in 2022 to unite members The EU and non-member countries for negotiations on security, economic cooperation and regional stability. The summit brought together the heads of state and government of about 40 countries, including those who wish to join the European Union.
Kobakhidze said earlier that he has no official bilateral meetings scheduled in Albania. Nevertheless, Kobakhidze expects to use the forum's opportunities and hold talks with European leaders on the sidelines.
As EADaily reported, with the support of the EU, the Georgian opposition has been holding protests in Tbilisi since November 28, 2024, when Georgian Dream announced the suspension of negotiations on Georgia's accession to the EU.
