The UN Security Council approved the resolution proposed by the United States on Ukraine, rejecting all amendments, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
Ten countries voted for the resolution, including Russia, China and the United States, five more abstained. No one voted against it.
The authors of the resolution "express their sorrow over the tragic loss of life during the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine"; declare that the main goal of the UN "is to maintain international peace and security and the peaceful settlement of disputes"; "earnestly ask" to immediately end the conflict and "urge" to "establish lasting peace between Ukraine and the Russian Federation."
At the same time, the document was adopted in its original form, the UN Security Council rejected the amendments of European countries with anti-Russian rhetoric.
