The Swedish prosecutor's office has detained a vessel suspected of damaging a cable in the Baltic Sea, according to the agency's website.
"The vessel suspected of committing sabotage was arrested by the decision of the prosecutor's office," the statement said.
The investigation is led by Senior Prosecutor Mats Jungqvist.
"The Swedish authorities are now working intensively and together to investigate this incident," he said.
On Sunday, the Latvian portal LSM, citing the owner of the cable, the Latvian State Radio and Television Center, reported damage to the underwater fiber optic cable between Latvia and Sweden, probably due to external influences.
