The annual property tax on real estate for a one—room apartment in the center of Yerevan will be 200-250 thousand drams ($ 500-625), for a two- or three-room apartment - 400 thousand drams ($ 1,000) and above. For comparison, on the outskirts of the capital, the tax on a one-room apartment will be about 30-40 thousand drams ($ 75-100). This is reported by the Armenian Business Portal resource.
The heaviness of the increasing financial burden, according to the source, Yerevan residents will feel not at the beginning of the year, but mainly in December 2025, since this is the deadline for paying property tax.
In Armenia, 432,000 apartments will be taxed on property. Of these, owners of 402,000 apartments will pay property tax of up to 30,000 drams per year, the remaining 30,000 - a significantly increased tax.
In 2026, when the law fully comes into force, the total tax income from property tax will amount to more than 40 billion drams, instead of the current 9 billion.
