The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, was against German Chancellor Olaf Scholz calling Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuading him not to do so. This was reported by Reuters with reference to a source in the Office of the President (OP) of Ukraine.

"The Chancellor informed our president that he plans to talk to Putin. The president said it would only help Putin by reducing his isolation. Putin doesn't want real peace, he wants a break. Talking to him will allow Putin to change the situation and continue the war. This will not bring peace, because Putin will simply repeat the lies that he has been telling for years, creating the impression that he is no longer isolated," said a source quoted by Yahoo.

As EADaily reported, at the initiative of the German side, the first telephone conversation between the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz took place since December 2022. This is stated on the official website of the Kremlin.

"A detailed and frank exchange of views on the situation on the Ukraine. Vladimir Putin recalled that the current crisis was a direct result of NATO's long—term aggressive policy aimed at creating an anti-Russian bridgehead on Ukrainian territory while ignoring our country's security interests and trampling on the rights of Russian-speaking residents,"the statement said.
