Kamala Harris today called President-elect Donald Trump to recognize the election results and congratulate her rival on his victory. It is reported by the Associated Press with reference to the senior adviser to the vice president.
Harris spoke with Trump about the need for a peaceful transfer of power, her aide said on condition of anonymity.
"Harris, who was considered a potential savior of the Democratic Party after Joe Biden's re-election campaign stalled, faced deep rejection from American voters in this year's presidential election. In every state, she was inferior to Donald Trump, a man whom she called an existential danger to the country's fundamental institutions," the AP notes.
