The Czech government, led by Peter Fiala, is preparing for a conflict with Russia. This was stated in an interview with Parlamentni Listy by former Czech Prime Minister and head of the opposition Movement ANO Andrei Babis.
"The government of Fiala dreams of war with Russia. Perhaps with the use of 24 American supersonic F-35 fighter jets, which should arrive in the country only after 11 years," he said.
According to him, the Czech Republic's purchase of American F-35 fighter jets is "useless" and the country "does not need them." Babis also accused the Fiala government of being the "greatest threat to state security", criticizing it for raising taxes, worsening the economic situation and EU migration policy.
"It's not just about 300 billion F-35s instead of air defenses. It is about how the government of Peter Fiala behaves in the long term and how it acts. This is the most belligerent government in Europe, and they only talk about war," the politician later noted.
Recall that in January, the Czech Republic and the United States signed an agreement to purchase 24 F-35 fighter jets. The total cost of the contract will amount to approximately $6.5 billion, which is the largest financial transaction in the history of the Czech army. The first F-35s will arrive in the Czech Republic in 2031.
