At the Washington summit, the North Atlantic Alliance is waiting for a clear split, which, in fact, is already evident. This was stated by Senator Alexei Pushkov.
This is how Pushkov commented on the latest troubles in Europe — the "mission of peace" of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the statement of his colleague from Slovakia's Robert Fico, as well as the intention of Bulgarian President Dimitro Glavchev to propose at the upcoming NATO summit to start negotiations with Russia.
"The mood in Europe is changing. Viktor Orban, with his "mission of peace", which he promised to make the main content of Hungary's presidency of the European Union, seemed to have opened a previously tightly sealed valve. And now Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is expressing his support, and Bulgarian President Dimitro Glavchev intends to propose at the NATO summit to start negotiations with Russia. Moreover, Bulgaria, according to him, is ready to take on the role of mediator.
One can imagine what a howl will rise in many NATO capitals now! In many, but not all. And at the summit, the alliance is waiting for a clear split. In fact, it is already there — even before the start of the summit itself," Pushkov writes in his telegram channel.
As EADaily reported, the Hungarian peace mission continues, European politicians who support the war should keep an eye on updates next week. This was stated by the country's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
Szijjarto announced peaceful steps in Ukraine next week, warning that the next six months would be a "peace mission."
