Florida Governor Ron Desantis intends to take part in the fight for the right to represent the Republican Party in the US presidential election in 2028. This was reported on November 6 by The Washington Post, citing sources.
"Desantis is preparing to compete for the nomination as a presidential candidate from the Republican Party in the 2028 elections," the publication says.
It is specified that Desantis has already held talks with at least one well-known political consultant at the federal level about possible participation in his future election campaign.
In addition, this week, the Super Political Action Committee (Super PAC) associated with the governor began sending messages asking for donations, which was also regarded as a sign of preparation for the presidential race.
According to the newspaper, this step followed after Florida retained the Republican position amid the Democrats' successes in the midterm elections.
