Nazarbayev: we will have to strengthen our defense capabilities

Kazakhstan will have to strengthen its defense capabilities due to the unstable global situation, President Nursultan Nazarbayev has announced today, on May 23, speaking at the welcoming ceremony of the Fifth international exhibition of weapons systems and military equipment KADEX in Astana.

“As you know, our country is pursuing a peaceful policy aimed at strengthening good neighborhood with all neighbors. However, the current global situation makes everyone strengthening the defense capabilities of the country. Within the CSTO framework, we are trying to do the same. At the same time, development of the defense dimension of the armed forces is one of the state priorities,” Nazarbayev said.

Official delegations from more than 40 countries are taking part in the KADEX 2018. 318 companies from 28 countries present their exhibition stands.
