The Belarusian ruble has plunged to a record-low rate against the US dollar at the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange today, hitting through the psychologically significant level, 18,000 BYR for $1. The Belarusian currency has become weaker against all other currencies too.
Euro costs 19,185 BYR, according to the stock exchange. Meanwhile, official rate of the Belarusian National Bank is 17,976.
According to data compiled by EADaily, during this year, the Belarusian ruble has become weaker by 1.7 times against the USD. The sharpest decline of the currency rate was fixed in 2011-2012, when it dropped by three times within 15 months.
