Tajikistan is starting to build a Sebzor water power plant in Gorno- Badakhshan Autonomous Region, with the first stone to be laid by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Tajik Energy and Water Resources Minister Usmonali Usmonzoda told journalists on July 23.
According to the minister, Rahmon is to visit Gorno-Badakhshan in the next few days. The rated capacity of Sebzora is 10MW, with the plant supposed to produce energy not only for the region but also for the borderline districts of Afghanistan.
“Currently we are conducting the feasibility study. The estimated cost of the project is $100mn,” Usmonzoda said.
