On October 24, US President Donald Trump sharply criticized Norway after the Nobel Peace Prize was not awarded to him, calling it a "toilet country."
"Honestly, Norway sucks. Norway has actually become a toilet country," Trump said at a campaign rally in Michigan.
The reason for the discontent of the US president was the decision of the Nobel Committee, which awarded the prize to the former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay. Trump had previously applied for an award, but was not included in the number of laureates.
According to Trump, the United States should have received eight awards for each conflict they resolved. He called the committee's decision an indelible stain on Norway.
