Armenia may join the US sanctions against Iran if it faces any trouble. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today, October 1.

Pashinyan was asked if Iranian airlines might have problems flying to Armenia, taking into account the new US sanctions against Iranian airlines.

"We are studying the package of sanctions. We are very transparent with all our partners. We say, especially in the case of friendly countries, that we will do our utmost to be friendly, but there is a line that we ourselves cannot cross. This is the line, the risk that Armenia itself may be under sanctions. That is, before the risk that Armenia will be under sanctions, we will remain in the logic of friendship. But if we see that we ourselves are falling under sanctions, we will have to make some decision on what to do," the Armenian Prime minister said.

As EADaily reported, Washington announced sanctions against Iranian airlines as part of a new package of restrictive measures. Foreign firms and intermediaries that provided services to Iranian airlines were also sanctioned.
