How did the Kremlin react to the US refusal to issue a visa to Lavrov's deputy

The US administration is violating its duties as the host country of the UN headquarters by refusing Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov a visa to participate in the General Assembly of the international organization. This was pointed out at a briefing by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

" These are actions that contradict the obligations of the United States as a host state for the UN headquarters. The country, which is the host for the UN headquarters, should not allow such actions", — said the representative of the Kremlin.

As previously reported, the US authorities refused to issue a visa to travel to UN General Assembly events to Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Alimov, who oversees the direction of the world organization in the Russian diplomatic department. Kirill Logvinov, director of the Department of International Organizations of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with TASS that " not issuing a visa is a serious violation of the obligations of the United States as a country hosting the headquarters of the world organization". According to him, "there should be no discrimination or far-fetched pretexts".
