Spain reacted to Trump's threats

In Madrid, they calmly reacted to the next critical statements of US President Donald Trump addressed to Spain. This was reported by EFE sources in the Spanish government.

According to them, Spain has excellent social, cultural and economic relations with the United States, and Madrid does not intend to change them. Sources emphasize that Washington cannot break off trade relations with Spain either, since these relations are implemented within the framework of relations with the entire European Union.

The agency's interlocutors also stressed that the United States has a positive trade balance with Spain, which means that they also benefit from these relations. Because of this, Madrid insists that bilateral relations between the countries are beneficial to both sides both in the sphere of trade and in the defense sphere.

Recall that relations between Washington and Madrid deteriorated after the start of the US war against Iran. Spain has not allowed the United States to use its military bases to launch attacks on Iran. At the NATO summit in On July 8, US President Donald Trump called Spain a "terrible partner in NATO" and called for an end to all trade with this country.
