The security of the Strait of Hormuz is the responsibility of coastal States. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Kazem Gharibabadi.
Garibabadi reacted sharply to the statements of Great Britain and France about their readiness to form a A "multinational military task force" in the Strait of Hormuz.
"The Strait of Hormuz is not a place for military parades of extra—regional powers. Iran, as the guarantor and responsible party for the security of the strait, warns against any military action in this sensitive waterway," he said.
According to him, "the security of the Strait of Hormuz is the responsibility of coastal states."
"Those who provoke a crisis will be responsible for the consequences of their adventures. This is a serious warning," Gharibabadi stressed.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer made a joint statement on the situation in The Strait of Hormuz. According to them, London and Paris plans to organize a "multinational military task force" that will ensure the safety of the passage of ships.
