We don't need "Terminators": Russian fighters will get "Spiridons"

The tank support combat vehicle, which was previously called the Terminator, will change its name. As told to TASS in the concern "Uralvagonzavod", now it will be officially called "Spiridon".

The initiative of renaming came from the factory workers themselves and the crews who work with this equipment.

The concern explained that the new name combines heroic and deep spiritual meaning. According to the creators, the renaming returns Russian military equipment to Russian historical and spiritual values, to the names of the defenders of their native land. Thus, it was decided to abandon the Western image of the "Terminator" in favor of a more traditional and significant name for the national culture.
