The US Central Command (CENTCOM) told Fox News that the US military had launched strikes in southern Iran.
"Today, US forces launched self—defense strikes in southern Iran to protect our troops from threats from the Iranian armed forces," said a spokesman for the command, quoted in the social network X by Fox News journalist Jennifer Griffin.

According to the TV channel, citing sources, as a result of the attack, two IRGC boats were allegedly destroyed, as well as the position of the air defense system. At the same time, it is emphasized that these strikes were allegedly carried out for defensive purposes, there is no talk of ending the truce.
Earlier, Reuters reported explosions in the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas. Their reason was not called.
