"At that moment I was at Lake Drija, fishing. After that, I saw that it was flying. At first I thought it was a "Cornhusker". Then I saw that something smaller was flying. The sound was similar to the sound of a moped. Then I realized that something was wrong," says a local resident, an eyewitness of the events.
The Latvian police have already published an official message. It says that on May 23, the state police received information from residents about the crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle into Lake Drija.,

Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina said she was in contact with the services investigating the incident.
Recall that since the end of March, Ukrainian drones have repeatedly flown into the territory of the Baltic countries. Moscow gave them a special warning because of the decision to open the skies for the passage of drones attacking Russia.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Kiev convinced Riga to agree to conduct an operation using UAVs against Russia. This is stated in the press office of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of the Russian Federation.
According to the data received, Kiev is not going to limit itself to using the air corridors provided by the Armed Forces of the Baltic States. Drones are also planned to be launched from the territory of these states, as this will significantly reduce the time of approach to targets and increase the effectiveness of terrorist attacks."
