Iran attacked a second cargo ship in The Strait of Hormuz for today. This is reported by the agency "Pars".
According to the British Maritime Trade Authority, the cargo ship was hit 8 miles west of Iran.
It is assumed that the container ship ignored the warnings of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and was attacked for this reason.
As a result of the shelling, the conning tower (bridge) of the vessel was seriously damaged. The crew members were not injured and are safe. No fire or fuel leakage was recorded.
This is the second vessel in respect of which coercive measures were applied by the Iranian Armed Forces this morning. The first one was attacked at 07.55 local time.
