US President Donald Trump said that the war on Ukraine is not a US war. He criticized the statement of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz about the conflict with Iran and recalled that Washington helped Kiev, although this is "not his war."
"The head of Germany said about Iran: "This is not our war." I replied: "Well, Ukraine is not our war either. We helped, but Ukraine is not our war.“ I think it was a very inappropriate statement. But he said it — and it can no longer be erased. He really thinks so. I said, 'Well, you know, Ukraine is not our war either,'" Trump said today, March 26.
Earlier today, at a meeting of his cabinet, Trump noted that the United States was extremely disappointed by the inaction of NATO allies in the situation around Iran.
"I will say this publicly: we are very disappointed with NATO. Because NATO has done absolutely nothing. I said 25 years ago that NATO is a paper tiger … We will come to their rescue, but they will never come to us. And I want you to remember that we said this, that they did not come to our rescue," the US president said.
He also assured that now the Americans no longer need help with unblocking the Strait of Hormuz from European NATO members.
