An Iranian man has been arrested for trying to infiltrate the British Faslane nuclear submarine base. It is reported by Sky News channel with reference to the Scottish Police.
The police received a notification about two people trying to enter the military base where nuclear submarines capable of carrying Trident missiles are based the day before at about five o'clock in the evening, a spokesman for the department said.
"A 34-year-old man and a 31—year-old woman have been arrested in connection with this and the investigation is ongoing," he added.
According to the PA news agency, the arrested man is Iranian.
The information was also confirmed by a representative of the Royal Navy.
"As the investigation is ongoing, we will not comment further," he said.
As reported by EADaily, the number of security incidents at the British base of HMNB Clyde nuclear submarines in Scotland has increased tenfold since the beginning of SMO. This was reported by the British radio station LBC.
The base houses four Vanguard submarines capable of carrying Trident nuclear missiles.
