It's too late to rush around: it's useless for Macron to talk to Putin anymore — Episkopos

Emmanuel Macron realized too late that he needed to talk to Vladimir Putin. This was stated in the social network X by international security expert Mark Episkopos.

This is how he commented on today's statement by the French president that preparations for his contacts with the Russian leader are being discussed at the technical level.

"Although it's good, it's too late and it's already useless. Framework for a peaceful settlement on Ukraine is too strictly defined for Europe, so it will not be able to change them for itself," the expert writes, quoted by RIA Novosti.

Paris could "play a positive role" in this process, discussing with Moscow the issues of anti-Russian sanctions and security guarantees for Kiev, Episkopos noted.

As reported by EADaily, French President Emmanuel Macron said that preparations are underway for a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but it is at the technical level. "Preparations are currently underway, and negotiations on this issue are underway at the technical level," he told reporters during a trip to the Upper Son department.
