The TASS news agency, for its part, reports, referring to the director's entourage, that the cause of his sudden death was a detached blood clot.

In addition to working on television projects, Oleynikov directed 7 films and mini-series, including: "The Ghost of the Arbat", "Detective for a million" and others. He also wrote scripts for the films "Love is a Carrot".
