The Russian army managed to gain a foothold in the village of Grabovsky, Sumy region. This was stated on the air of the telethon by the speaker of the united group of forces Viktor Tregubov.
"They... have gained a foothold in the southern part of the settlement and their presence there remains," Tregubov said, quoted by the Strana newspaper.
According to him, there are about a hundred Russian fighters in the village, but it is difficult to name an exact figure, since they "constantly move across the border, overcoming it simply on foot."
Tregubov stressed that Grabovsky is not the elite of the Russian army, but ordinary fighters of an ordinary motorized rifle brigade from contract soldiers.
"They are prepared in a certain time and in a certain way. These are not people for whom the war is a professional income, these are not some super-duper fighters who have seen Syria, Libya, but they are not "mobsters" who were sent into battle yesterday and they do not know which side the machine gun is shooting from," the speaker explained.
As reported by EADaily, the Russian army entered the villages of Ryasnoye and Grabovskoye in Sumy region. This was reported by the publication "Time.ua" with reference to "Cordon.Media".
