As part of the reform of the US diplomatic policy abroad, the administration of US President Donald Trump recalled about 30 diplomats from the posts of ambassadors. This was reported on December 22 by the Associated Press, citing State Department officials.
"Last week, the heads of missions in at least 29 countries were informed that their term of office expires in January," the publication says.
According to officials, those affected by personnel changes will not lose their positions in the diplomatic service. They will be able to return to Washington, if desired, to perform other tasks.
It is specified that the personnel changes affected 13 African countries, six Asian countries, four European countries, two Middle Eastern countries, two countries in the Western Hemisphere and one each in South and Central Asia.
