After the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces tankers in the Black Sea, the Russian army resumed retaliatory strikes on gas production and storage at Ukraine. This was stated in Naftogaz.
"Last night and this morning Russia attacked the gas infrastructure again," Naftogaz reports.
They explained that gas production and storage facilities were hit.
"There is destruction. Operational services and specialists of the company are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack. Immediately after there is a permit from the State Emergency Service, the Naftogaz teams will begin recovery," the national company reports.
In October, Naftogaz announced that the Russian army had delivered nine strikes on gas production in a month. It has traditionally provided two-thirds of consumption. The national company estimated that the damage would lead to the need to import more than 4 billion cubic meters of gas worth $ 1.9 billion in winter.
Without them, the country simply will not be able to pass the heating season, since the stock in storage facilities corresponds to the minimum in the past and in February-March Naftogaz was forced to urgently import fuel into the country.
The Russian army strikes at gas production on Ukraine in response to the attacks of refineries and even nuclear power plants in Russia. Last week and this week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked tankers in the Black Sea.
