Russia's nuclear Poseidon has moved to the "comprehensive testing" phase

The Belgorod nuclear submarine of the 09852 project, carrying several 2P39 special launchers, will become a platform for comprehensive testing of Poseidon nuclear torpedoes (type 2M39). This was reported to Izvestia by military expert Dmitry Kornev.

The checks will take place before the devices are included in the combat strength of the Russian Navy.

In turn, the standard carrier of torpedoes — the Khabarovsk submarine of the 09851 project — can be transferred to the fleet within the next one or two years. It is possible that other carriers will be laid later.

EADaily reminds that in August, experts from the American edition of Military Watch Magazine noted the Khabarovsk's entry into the sea. At the same time, RIA Novosti columnist Andrei Kots called the Pacific Ocean an ideal theater of military operations for Poseidon, and the latter was Russia's strategic trump card.
