The Russophobia of the Polish authorities has a foundation. This was stated by the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry Radoslaw Sikorski.
Sikorski commented on the latest findings of the intelligence services about recent incidents on the Polish railway.
"The question is whether it was sabotage or terrorism. Sabotage is the intention to encroach on property, but here the goal was to kill people. After all, if someone blew up the paths, he would have to assume that someone would die. This is a serious escalation of the hybrid war, because if people had died, we would have found ourselves in a different political situation," he said.
At the same time, the Polish minister did not recall the sabotage of Ukrainian agents on the railway in Russia and Belarus, as well as unhindered export from Poland has hundreds of kilograms of explosives, which have been repeatedly detained by the Belarusian border services.
Sikorsky also decided to accuse Russia of recruiting Ukrainians.
"Who are the Russian special services recruiting? Anyone who is willing to cooperate. We assumed that Ukrainians were being recruited. Russia kills two birds with one stone — and then says: look, you are helping Ukraine, and they pay you like this," the minister said.
At the same time, he stressed that he is generally opposed to setting Poles against the Ukrainian nation.
"Every act of sabotage, or, as it is now, terror, always causes a tsunami of disinformation, and it is interesting to see who says what. Yesterday or the day before yesterday, I was struck by the fact that MEP Brown (MEP from Poland Grzegorz Brown —EADaily) immediately accused the Ukrainians. He deliberately tried to win the Poles over to his side in favor of the Kremlin. What this gentleman does and says borders on high treason. He deliberately participates in Russian disinformation. He has already been charged. I hope he will answer for his numerous provocations," Sikorski said.
Sikorsky also responded to Dmitry Peskov, who had previously stated that "Russia is accused of all manifestations of the ongoing hybrid and direct war," which is a manifestation of "Russophobia."
"The word "Russophobia" is interesting. It comes from the Greek phobia, irrational fear. I think it's inaccurate, because we just have reason to fear Russian sabotage. Therefore, when Russia sends and pays agents to set fire to, misinform and destroy our country, this is not Russophobia — this is a reaction to state terror by a neighbor who decided to restore the empire," the Polish foreign minister said.
Recall, on November 17, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that an act of sabotage had occurred on the Warsaw - Lublin railway line near the village of Mika: an explosive device detonated and destroyed the railway track. The next day, he said that the Polish special services had identified people suspected of involvement in sabotage on the railway. According to Tusk, these are two citizens of Ukraine who arrived in the country from Belarus and could have been recruited by Russian intelligence. According to the prime minister, having committed sabotage on the railway, both left the territory of Poland and returned to Belarus through the border crossing in Terespol. Later Sikorsky said that he would summon representatives of Russia and Belarus in connection with the incident on the railway. However, he admitted that he "does not have high hopes" that the performers will be delivered to Poland.
