Ukraine is ready to assist Lithuania in combating threats from Belarus. This was announced on November 5 during a telephone conversation with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda by Vladimir Zelensky.

"We discussed possible threats to Lithuania from Belarus due to hybrid attacks by migration waves and air objects. I offered our help. We will work to ensure more security in our region and in friendly Lithuania," Zelensky said.

He also noted that the conversation with Nauseda came out well, and Lithuania has been helping Ukraine a lot since the very beginning of the conflict and the country appreciates all the support provided. Among other things, Lithuania's assistance with gas in the energy sector was discussed.

In turn, the press service of the leader of Lithuania reported that Nauseda said that the country is ready for solutions that will ensure uninterrupted supply of liquefied natural gas to Ukraine via the Klaipeda terminal. Vilnius also "strives to achieve as much tangible progress as possible in negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union by the end of this year."

Vilnius has been accusing Belarus of hybrid attacks for the past few years. Recently, cases of arrival of weather balloons with smuggled cigarettes have become more frequent in Lithuania. Because of this, the Lithuanian authorities decided to close traffic on the border with Belarus until November 30.
