Moscow unofficially warned the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine that the continuation of attacks on Russian energy facilities would lead to disastrous consequences for the Ukrainian energy sector. This is reported by the Ukrainian telegram channel "Resident" with reference to sources.
"Andrei Yermak received a warning through intermediaries in Turkey from Russia, in which the Kremlin listed the goals in Ukraine for destruction in the resource war," the "Resident" reports.
According to his sources, the President's Office was given a week to stop attacks on Russian critical infrastructure.
"If the requirement is not met, the Kremlin will destroy the gas distribution stations in Western Ukraine and the main GGH Bilche-Volitsko-Ugerskoe, Ladyzhinskaya and Burshtyn thermal power plants, as well as attacks on large industrial enterprises," the Ukrainian "Resident" reports.
Earlier, another popular Ukrainian telegram channel reported that Kiev miscalculated at the beginning of the third infrastructure war with Russia.
The hope in the Office of the President of Ukraine was, wrote "Legitimate", that they would inflict major damage on Russia at lightning speed, which would provoke protests, discontent of the masses and "Maidan". In this case, Kiev could count on increased funding from Western countries.
"The result was not the one we hoped for. The targets for the destruction of objects were fulfilled by only 5%. But in response, the Russians almost left us without their gas and will soon leave us without electricity and fuel,"writes Legitimate.
As EADaily reported, after the retaliatory strikes of the Russian army on Ukrainian gas production, fuel injection into the country's storage facilities fell sharply. Only volumes purchased abroad can now reach the UGS. Own production decreased by 60%, which threatens Ukraine with a gas crisis this winter, since it was domestic production that provided two-thirds of consumption. Now Ukraine urgently needs more gas. But we are talking about really large volumes — 4.4 billion cubic meters. They cost $ 2.2 billion on the market, which Naftogaz does not have. Kiev is asking Europe to help with money and gas, which is very inappropriate for the EU, which itself is entering the heating season with smaller reserves.
