"The same New York in The Senate is represented by Chuck Schumer, who is now blocking the adoption of the budget with the help of a filibuster. Until there are 60 votes for it, the Senate will not approve the budget. And the government shutdown will continue," the political scientist points out.

In addition, Trump promises to start firing officials in the coming days, Dudakov continues. The MAGA-electorate would not mind getting rid of 70-80% of the bureaucratic apparatus, because it is perceived as the focus of the "deepstate". Speaker Mike Johnson takes a similar approach, so he let lawmakers go on vacation until the end of the week.

"Trump is given carte blanche to purge," the expert adds.

As the political scientist emphasizes, the American society equally blames everyone for the shutdown — and Trump, and the Republicans in Congress, and the Democrats.

"Sooner or later the latter will have to give up, especially if the Democratic states continue to cut funding. And they themselves will not last long. The only question is what will remain in the end from the US government at the end of the shutdown," he concludes.
