British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will travel to Washington on August 18 with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, to meet with US President Donald Trump.
"At a meeting to be held at the White House tomorrow, the Prime Minister and other European partners are ready to express support for a new stage of further negotiations [on the Ukrainian settlement]. He will confirm that his support for Ukraine will continue for as long as it takes," the UK Prime Minister's office said in a statement.
Earlier, the BBC denied reports of Starmer's participation in a meeting between President Trump and Zelensky in Washington.
As EADaily reported, on August 18, Trump and Zelensky, who had already been kicked out of the Oval Office, will go to talks:
- Head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen
- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz
- Prime Minister of Italy Giorgio Meloni
- President of Finland Alexander Stubb
- French President Emmanuel Macron
- NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Zelensky in Washington will be greeted without celebrations and a red carpet, Sky News notes for its part.
