A member of the royal family, Al-Walid ibn Khalid Al Saud, known as the "sleeping prince", who spent more than 20 years in a coma, has died in Saudi Arabia. This was announced on July 19 by the online portal Masrawy.
"Prince Al-Waleed ibn Khalid ibn Talal Al Saud, known as the "sleeping prince", died at the age of 35, after spending about 20 years in a coma in one of the specialized medical centers in Saudi Arabia," the publication says.
It is specified that Prince Al-Waleed was born in April 1990. He fell into a coma in 2005 after a car accident in London, in which he received a severe traumatic brain injury and cerebral hemorrhage.
"It is with great sadness and sorrow that we mourn our beloved son, Prince Al-Walid ibn Khalid ibn Talal ibn Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him, who passed away today," his father Prince Khalid ibn Talal ibn Abdul—Aziz wrote on the social network X.
