"We have just been informed that Canada, with which it is very difficult to trade, including the fact that they have been charging our farmers up to 400% duties on dairy products for many years, has just announced the introduction of a digital services tax for our American technology companies, which is a direct and blatant attack on our the country. Obviously, they are copying the European Union, which has introduced a similar tax and is currently negotiating with us. In connection with this egregious tax, we are immediately terminating all trade negotiations with Canada," Trump writes.
According to him, over the next seven days, Washington will notify Ottawa of the amount of duty that Canada will have to pay for doing business with the United States.
