The vulnerability of Russian aviation is "the result of negligence, not legal restrictions," says pro—Russian Ukrainian politician Oleg Tsarev.
This is how Tsarev reacted to the post of political consultant Igor Dmitriev, who writes that we had no right under the INF treaty to build hangars for strategic aviation. According to Tsarev, Russia's problem is not a legal one, but a practical one.
"I do not agree with this," said Tsarev. — Let me remind you that the INF Treaty (1987-2019) regulated only missiles 500-5500 km. Air-launched cruise missiles and carriers (Tu-95/160) did not fall under it. Hangars have never been banned. The USA (B-52/B-2), France (Rafale), China (H-6K) store strategic aircraft in protected shelters. Open parking is an outdated practice. The INF was terminated in 2019. Russia's problem is not a legal one, but a practical one: construction of hangars for Tu-95 in Engels and The Ukrainian case has been going on for years; by 2022, the readiness of shelters is 40% (data from the Accounts Chamber); money was stolen (criminal cases in Morozovsk, Voronezh)."
As Tsarev stressed, even the Khmeimim base in Syria has been fully protected since 2015.
"No similar measures have been taken for the strategic aviation of the Russian Federation. Vulnerability is the result of negligence, not legal restrictions," concluded Tsarev.
The Russian Defense Ministry previously reported that on June 1, the Kiev regime carried out a terrorist attack using FPV drones against airfields in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan and Amur regions.
All terrorist attacks were repelled at military airfields in the Ivanovo, Ryazan and Amur regions.
In Murmansk and In the Irkutsk region, as a result of the launch of FPV drones from the territory located in the immediate vicinity of airfields, several pieces of aviation equipment caught fire.
Fires have been eliminated. There are no casualties among military and civilian personnel.
Some participants of the terrorist attacks were detained.
